Island Bound Sailing Academy is based on the small landlocked Lake Grapevine near DFW Intl Airport. Closer by far to Oklahoma, than a body of saltwater. The North Texas Sailing School has been in continuous service since its founding in 1975. We are located on the east shore of Lake Ray Hubbard in Heath, Texas. We utilize 12 boats in the service of sailing instruction and employ 10 certified sailing instructors on our staff. We are number one in course content and structure and place a strong emphasis on boat handling skills.
Mastering the sport of sailing requires a knowledge of sailing techniques, safety procedures, and, most importantly, actual sailing experience. We are leaders in promoting safe, competent boating. We are, and always have been, the Metroplex’s premier sailing school. Our curriculum has been developed over many years of experience in teaching and our program continues to set the standard. At our sailing school, we provide a unique opportunity for adults to enjoy an exciting and unforgettable sailing experience.
