North Texas Sailing School
North Texas Sailing School celebrates 50 years of continuous sailing service as one of the industry’s premier sailing schools. We are located on the east shore of beautiful Lake Ray Hubbard in Heath, Texas. Our desire is to help you realize your sailing dream, whether it be lake sailing or blue water sailing.
Our course content places a strong emphasis on mastery of boat handling skills, teamwork, and good seamanship.
The curriculum is a rich blend of classroom instruction, technical skill, confidence building, and plain old common sense.
Sailing is a lifelong learning adventure, and we are dedicated to growing and serving sailors in this wonderful sport.

ASA 101, Keelboat Sailing 1
Learn to skipper a 20' - 27' sloop-rigged keelboat by day, in light to moderate winds and sea conditions. Learn basic sailing terminology, parts and functions, helm commands, basic sail trim, points of sail, buoyage, seamanship and safety including basic navigation rules to avoid collisions and hazards.
